Sponored Train Shows

In October each year the club sponors a train show and sale in Eau Claire. It has been held at various locations over the years, e.g., North High School, Memorial High School, Regis High School, and most recently the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center. Many layouts from regional clubs and individuals have been on display. Scales range from Z to G and Standard Gauge. Lots of vendors are also present with good deals on model railroad and related items both new and loved. The purpose is to share the hobby and provide good entertainment for kids of all ages.

WWRC co-sponsored a one day outdoor show originaly called Full Steam Ahead!, later Steaming by the Water located at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire, Wi. This show ran for about 5 years but has been discontinued. It was fun being at an outdoor show. Most layouts were under a roof in case it rained, which it did more than once.

Helping with a show is a good opportunity to have fun together and get to know fellow members better and of course run some trains.

Some members have their own layouts or participate in other groups that have layouts to display at shows. These include the the Chippewa Valley Garden Railroaders G scale layout, the Standard Gauge Module Association, the Chippewa Valley N-Gineers and others.
