IRM is located near Union, IL. It is well worth visiting for a day. They have lots of events throughout the year. It is the home of the Nebraska Zephyr and lots of other cool railroad equipment. IRM is east of Rockford and northwest of Chicago and is about a 4 h our drive from Eau Claire. You could stop at Rochelle on your trip to see rail traffic on the famous quad diamond.
